Forehead acne - September 14th, 2009

Hair, it seems so innocent. But the fact is, that when it comes to acne, it can be a disaster! Have you ever seen someone and thought they had bangs just to cover up the acne on their forehead? But it is possible that the reverse is true. Bangs hanging on one’s forehead can actually create an acne problem. The oil from the hair or any hair products encourages the acne, then in an effort to cover up the acne, the bangs become more pronounced. In reality, the proper treatment may be just to keep the bangs off the forehead and grow them out.

As a teenager, this was how I remedied a serious forehead acne problem I had developed. I had not even noticed the problem was a result of my bangs until a friend criticized the way I wore my bangs, so I grew them out and the forehead acne disappeared almost completely. I thought of this because I recently saw a picture of myself during this time and was shocked at how bad the acne was during that time. I’ve always had acne, but never so bad as when I had bangs. So, if anyone else has bad forehead acne, I recommend pulling back your bangs and seeing if that helps.
