Tea Tree Oil For Acne - September 11th, 2009

So as the Earth is dieing, people are taking notice and there is a huge push for “natural remedies” to everything from medical issues to the best way to recycle natural resources.
I first heard about Tea Tree Oil about 10 years ago when a naturalist I saw recommended it as a natural way to clean and disinfect around the house. She said to water it down and then use it just like any other cleaner. It smells kind of strong to use around the whole house though. I just today saw that Tea Tree Oil can be used to treat acne! First, the warning, it is for topic use, not for ingesting!
So a gel with Tea Tree oil can be used (5% tea tree oil in the gel) as a natural way to treat acne. Very cool. The oil comes from a plant that is an Australian native. According to the site linked above, the oil “was used as a topical treatment by the Aboriginal people for centuries.” Ok, the site did not say that they if they specifically used it for acne or not, but they could have and this certainly could answer that question about what they did in ancient or even not so ancient times to treat acne. I have been really been wondering what they did prior to over the counter medial treatments for acne.
