Washing The Face - September 4th, 2009

I know I mentioned it briefly in passing in a pervious post, but I really like to wash, wash, wash.  I can’t emphasize how important it is that I wash my face after I eat.  I have hard on many occasions a man’s beard being referred to as a “crumb catcher” or a “flavor saver.”  The terms make me gag a bit, but the idea behind the name is solid.  When you eat, tiny bits of food fall.  A man’s beard will collect those bits.

A woman might not have a beard full of crumbs, but the chin can still collect bits of food, as can the rest of the face.  The grease and fat from the food can get into the pores and the end result is a face full of acne.  This is why I ideally would be washing my face after every meal.  Obviously there are times this is not practical.  For instance, at a fancy restaurant, I can’t just go to the restroom and start taking a face bath in the sink!

So in those instance, I would ideally wash as soon as I got home. But even if I am at a friend’s house for dinner there is no reason I can’t ask to use the lady’s room after the meal.  If I bring my purse I can reapply makeup after I wash my face.  Makeup is another issue for another blog though….
